CHARLES, Mo. -- Maddy Sprauls, in the role of Mary during the non-denominational “St. Charles Las Posadas,” greets the infant Jesus (played by her own child) during the event at the Main Pavilion of Frontier Park in St. Charles, Mo., Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021. The event, held annually on Main Street St. Charles, is an adaptation of the traditional Hispanic portrayal of the journey of Mary and Joseph from Nazareth to Bethlehem as they searched for lodging, safe refuge and a place to await the birth of Jesus.
