9 Dec. 2021 -- Affton, Mo. -- Delia Andrews, who has teamed with her cousin Ann Wittman to assist the family of Farid Warid, a refugee from Afghanistan who recently relocated with his family to St. Louis. Andrews (left) works through paperwork associated with the relocation as Wardak and his 1-year-old son Farman watch at their apartment in Affton, Mo. Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021. Andrews, a parishioner at Ste. Genevieve du Bois Parish in Warson Woods, and Wittman of Holy Infant Parish in Ballwin, have assisted the Wardaks in navigating life in their new country. In Afghanistan Farid Wardak worked with the US government, and was able to flee the country with this family as the Taliban returned to control of the country in August.
