17 DEC. 2011 -- LABADIE, Mo. -- Elsie Shemin-Roth, of Labadie, Mo., is joined by her cat Arthur while posing for a photograph in her 1911 farmhouse Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011. Her father, William Shemin, was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross during World War I for saving the lives three comrades before being wounded in battle.
