8 June 2024 -- Hazelwood, Mo. -- Community members from Sacred Heart Syro-Malabar Catholic Mission St. Louis gather outside St. Martin de Porres Church in Hazelwood after participating in a Pradakshinam (procession) as part of the Sacred Heart Thirunal Saturday, June 8, 2024. The procession included statues of the Blessed Mother, St. Sebastian and St. Alphonsa of the Immaculate Conception, along with the South Asian percussion group Detroit Kalakshetra and the Blessed Sacrament. The community, which primarily serves Catholics from India, is part of the Syro Malabar Eparchy of Chicago, one of 22 Eastern Catholic Churches in communion with Rome. Photo by Sid Hastings.
