Oakville Elementary School art teacher Amela Cikota leads a study station where students created interactive paper models of the earth, moon and sun as part of the curriculum at the school in Oakville as the students prepared for the total solar eclipse that passed across the St. Louis area Monday, Aug. 21, 2017. Staff at the school held a day of activities related to the eclipse, including studying phases of the moon, the rings around Saturn, creating a three-dimensional rendering of the moon, earth and sun and building and launching air-powered rockets.
