12 Dec. 2021 -- Ellisville, Mo. -- Family and friends of Ann Wittman, both American and Afghani immigrants and refugees, gather for dinner during a Holiday Party hosted by Wittman at her home in Ellisville, Mo., Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021. Farid Wardak (second from left) and his family recently relocated to St. Louis. Wittman (left), a parishioner at Holy Infant Parish in Ballwin, has teamed with her cousin Delia Andrews (third from left) of Ste. Genevieve du Bois Parish in Warson Woods to help the Wardaks navigate life in their new country. In Afghanistan Farid Wardak worked with the US government, and was able to flee the country with this family as the Taliban returned to control of the country in August.
