Mellisa Rogers, of the Brookings Institute and Wake Forest University, and Peter Wehner, of the Ethics and Public Policy Center, joined forces for "Religion and Polarized Politics: Peter Wehner and Melissa Rogers on Revitalizing Democratic Pluralism," sponsored by the John C. Danforth Center on Religion & Politics at Washington University in St. Louis Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019 at Emerson Auditorium on the WU Danforth Campus in St. Louis. The event was cosponsored by the WU Law Public Interest Law & Policy Speakers Series. Rogers was special assistant to the President and executive director of the White House Office of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships during the administration of President Barack Obama and Wehner served in the administrations of Presidents Reagan and George H.W. Bush prior to becoming deputy director of speechwriting for President George W. Bush. WUSTL Provost Holden Thorp welcomed participants and R. Marie Griffith, director of the Danforth Center, introduced the participants and moderated their discussion.
