9 Dec. 2021 -- Affton, Mo. -- Farid Wardack (right), a refugee from Afghanistan who recently relocated with his family to St. Louis, prepares formula for his 1-year-old son Farman at their apartment in Affton, Mo. Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021. Delia Andrews, a parishioner at Ste. Genevieve du Bois Parish in Warson Woods, has teamed with her cousin Ann Wittman of Holy Infant Parish in Ballwin to help the Wardaks navigate life in their new country. In Afghanistan Farid Wardak worked with the US government, and was able to flee the country with this family as the Taliban returned to control of the country in August.
