2 OCT. 2010 -- ST. LOUIS -- Farmers, produce dealers and shoppers have gathered at the Soulard Market in St. Louis since 1838, according to research by Jay Gibb for the Library of Congress. Gibb reports the historical record indicates that earlier markets in St. Louis were held along Market Street downtown. Here it hosts those selling and shopping on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010.
