Women put faith into action by welcoming Afghani refugees to St. Louis

9 Dec. 2021 -- Affton, Mo. -- Farhad Wardak, 8, waits for the school bus with his sisters Fariha, 6, and Farzana, 4, brother Fawad, 2, and St. Louisan Delia Andrews, near the Wardak family apartment in Affton, Mo., Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021. Andrews, a parishioner at Ste. Genevieve du Bois Parish in Warson Woods, has teamed with her cousin Ann Wittman of Holy Infant Parish in Ballwin to help the Wardaks navigate life in their new country. In Afghanistan Farid Wardak, the children’s father, worked with the US government, and was able to flee the country with this family as the Taliban returned to control of the country in August.
