BLOOMSDALE, Mo. – OCT. 8, 2015: Steve Baetje, who with his wife Veronica Baetje owns and operates Baetje Farms LLC, checks milkers attached to dairy goats while doing his daily milking at the farm in Bloomsdale, Mo., Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015. Baetje says he is currently milking about 30 goats once daily late in their lactation cycle, down from almost 70 goats twice daily during their peak production time several months ago. Goat cheeses made at Baetje Farms have won major national awards and the respect of cheese aficionados across the country.
