LOUIS -- Theaster Gates, an artist and urban planner affiliated with Harvard University and the University of Chicago, works with students during a Saturday program at Most Holy Trinity School in St. Louis Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010. Gates, the students and a group of volunteers gathered to dismantle a dilapidated mid-20th century garage on a lot that contains an historic row house they are renovating to serve as a gallery, studio space and an artist's residence for instructors affiliated with the school.
