BLOOMSDALE, Mo. – OCT. 8, 2015: Dairy goats turn to leave the milking parlor after being milked at Baetje Farms LLC in Bloomsdale, Mo., Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015. Steve Baetje, who owns and operates the dairy with his wife Veronica Baetje, says he is currently milking about 30 goats once daily late in their lactation cycle, down from almost 70 goats twice daily during their peak production time several months ago. Goat cheeses made at Baetje Farms have won major national awards and the respect of cheese aficionados across the country.
